One estimate felt very surface-level, while the other had clear quantity breakdowns, labor assumptions, and notes about potential risk areas.

It made me realize how much the final numbers can depend on the individual behind them. A skilled construction cost estimator doesn’t just plug numbers into software they interpret drawings, question missing details, consider sequencing, and factor in real-world site conditions. That judgment call element seems to be where a lot of accuracy comes from.
